The first
Enlighten Adelaide Festival was held on Sunday 13 February 2011
in the beautiful leafy grounds of historic Cummins House, Novar
Gardens.
Over 350 people attended plus children and the feedback we have
received so far has been exceptionally positive.
The objective of this Festival is to increase awareness of all
things natural, organic, and maintain a healthy lifestyle by
choosing what we eat, how we exercise and what we do in our
leisure time to relax and wind down.
Over 35 local South Australian businesses including natural
therapists, healers, practitioners, intuitive readers, organic
produce, organic wine, natural skincare and hair care products,
jewellery, and energy efficiency, showcased their products in an
outdoor market-style environment, emphasizing the ‘nature’
aspect of the Festival.
There were free Come and Try Activities, workshops and
demonstrations held throughout the day including yoga, singing
bowl, reiki, tarot readings, chanting, and more.
There was a dedicated area specifically for children including
mandala art workshops by Mother Earth’s Ash Tree, fairy
story-telling and arts and crafts by Groovy Chicks & Pirate
Ships, as well as children’s portrait photography by Corrynn
Jones Photography in the Enchanted Garden.
Bliss Organic Café
provided some free cooking class demonstrations as well as
selling food and drinks during the day.
